Moto Canada 2025: Sport Touring Highlights
The Moto Canada Motorcycle and Powersports Show opened this weekend in Abbotsford, BC, a short ride east of Vancouver, Canada’s largest city on the west coast. This is Canada’s premier motorcycle show, featuring major brands and offering something for everyone. Sponsored by Moto Canada, representing the motorcycle industry in Canada, the show provides the public with an exciting opportunity to preview the latest motorcycles and gear coming to market for the upcoming riding season.
For sport touring riders, the Moto Canada Show is a treasure trove of information and inspiration. From advanced touring motorcycles to innovative gear tailored for long-distance comfort and performance, the event has much to offer for those who thrive on the open road. But the appeal doesn’t stop there—the show also provides insights into motorcycle education, rider safety, and even unique extras that enhance the overall riding experience. Whether you’re a seasoned rider or just beginning your journey on two wheels, the Moto Canada Show is the place to spark your enthusiasm for the riding season ahead.
Motorcycles
Exciting new models that will appeal to riders of all kinds were on display. Sport bikes and adventure bikes were well represented, as one might expect. And notably, sport touring models appear to be making a modest comeback. New models from Yamaha, Suzuki, Moto Guzzi, and Honda were on display, drawing significant interest from attendees. These bikes highlight a renewed focus on blending performance and comfort, catering to riders who value both spirited rides and long-distance travel.
Motorcycle Gear
Attendees had plenty of gear to browse through, catering to both what riders might want and what they truly need. Helmets featuring new graphics from Arai and Shoei drew attention, while updated pants and jackets from brands like Alpinestars combined style with ever-better protection. Soft luggage options were also on display, including offerings from Mosko Moto, a Washington State-based company known for durable and versatile designs. The variety of gear highlighted the balance between personal expression and practical functionality, ensuring riders are equipped for both safety and comfort on their journeys.
Rider Skills
What would a motorcycle show be without a little educational content? Ryan Austin, owner and lead instructor from Advanced Rider Training, was on hand demonstrating off-road skills—most of which are equally valuable on-road. Confidence in his expertise is bolstered by his role as an instructor at the RCP Highway Patrol Motorcycle Officer Training School. Adding a twist not found in other programs, civilians have the unique opportunity to sign up for the exact same training, taught alongside police officers. In a separate arena, kids under 12 were invited to take practice laps with coaching from experienced riders, fostering the next generation of motorcycle enthusiasts.
A Few Extras
A Moto Canada Show wouldn’t be complete without some oddball and intriguing extras to round out the experience. A unique Vespa featuring Justin Bieber-inspired colors and graphics celebrated the pop star’s Canadian roots. For those who love exploring backroads, Backroad Maps showcased their offerings, which include paper maps, Garmin-compatible files, and a seamless app experience—a must-have for riders who venture off the beaten path. The RCP Highway Patrol was also present, giving attendees a chance to ask questions and take a closer look at their motorcycles and equipment. And for those seeking something truly distinctive, an enterprising vendor sold handmade Hawaiian-style shirts adorned with a variety of motorcycle patterns.
An Exciting Season Ahead
For sport touring riders, Moto Canada offers valuable insights, ranging from innovative motorcycles and essential gear to education and unique extras. It’s a perfect way to ignite excitement for the upcoming riding season and discover new ways to enhance your adventures on two wheels.
The show continues eastward from Abbotsford across Canada with stops in Calgary, Toronto, and finally Montreal. Find all the show details on the Moto Canada website.
