Rider Skills

What would a motorcycle show be without a little educational content? Ryan Austin, owner and lead instructor from Advanced Rider Training, was on hand demonstrating off-road skills—most of which are equally valuable on-road. Confidence in his expertise is bolstered by his role as an instructor at the RCP Highway Patrol Motorcycle Officer Training School. Adding a twist not found in other programs, civilians have the unique opportunity to sign up for the exact same training, taught alongside police officers. In a separate arena, kids under 12 were invited to take practice laps with coaching from experienced riders, fostering the next generation of motorcycle enthusiasts.

A Few Extras

A Moto Canada Show wouldn’t be complete without some oddball and intriguing extras to round out the experience. A unique Vespa featuring Justin Bieber-inspired colors and graphics celebrated the pop star’s Canadian roots. For those who love exploring backroads, Backroad Maps showcased their offerings, which include paper maps, Garmin-compatible files, and a seamless app experience—a must-have for riders who venture off the beaten path. The RCP Highway Patrol was also present, giving attendees a chance to ask questions and take a closer look at their motorcycles and equipment. And for those seeking something truly distinctive, an enterprising vendor sold handmade Hawaiian-style shirts adorned with a variety of motorcycle patterns.
