Expanded inReach Plans Benefit Sport Touring Riders
Garmin has updated its inReach® satellite subscription lineup, adding two new options that make the service more flexible; a welcome change for motorcycle sport touring riders who often ride seasonally and often venture well beyond cell coverage.
The new Enabled Plan keeps SOS coverage active year-round for a low monthly fee, with pay-as-you-go access to extra features like two-way messaging, weather updates, and tracking.
For seasonal riders who only need service part of the year, Garmin now offers a Suspend Option, letting customers pause their subscription for up to 12 months at no cost and return to an active plan without reactivation fees.
These additions complement Garmin’s three existing tiers:
- Premium — unlimited text messaging, weather, and tracking, plus 50 photo/voice messages.
- Standard — 150 text messages with unlimited tracking and check-ins, plus 25 photo/voice messages.
- Essential — 50 text messages, unlimited check-ins, and pay-as-you-go tracking (recommended for Sport Touring Riders).
Every plan includes interactive SOS messaging through the Iridium® satellite network, backed by Garmin Response℠, a 24/7 global monitoring center.
For sport touring riders, the new options mean more control over cost and coverage. Whether you’re riding long-distance routes all season or just want peace of mind emergency coverage on occasional trips, Garmin’s retooled plans offer a more economical fit.
