Bridgestone Supplies BATTLAX RS12 for Ninja ZX-10R
Bridgestone will supply its BATTLAX Racing Street RS12 as original equipment on the new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, pairing the company’s most aggressive road-legal performance tire with Kawasaki’s flagship supersport motorcycle.
Developed under Bridgestone’s “From Circuit to Street” concept, the RS12 emphasizes dry grip and circuit performance. Bridgestone says it delivers the highest level of dry grip in the road-legal BATTLAX lineup and incorporates technologies developed through motorcycle endurance racing. A newly developed compound and tread pattern are designed to maintain high grip through repeated laps, with the tire intended for sport riding on dry, winding roads as well as circuit tracks.
Those performance characteristics are worth considering for sport touring. The RS12’s emphasis on dry grip and high-performance cornering make this a compelling tire for track days or aggressive dry-road riding, rather than an ideal choice for all-weather touring rides.
The RS12 fitted to the Ninja ZX-10R will be supplied in 120/70ZR17 front and 190/55ZR17 rear sizes. Bridgestone says Kawasaki selected the tire after evaluating its dry grip and cornering characteristics against the performance requirements of the ZX-10R.
