Ducati Updates the Multistrada Grand Tour for 2027
Ducati brings its signature V4 performance to a fully equipped touring motorcycle, combining sporting capability with comfort, technology, and practical features for extended travel.
Ducati has introduced the 2027 edition of its Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour, updating the touring-focused variant with the latest Multistrada technology and an extensive package of comfort and convenience features. Based on the Multistrada V4 S, the Grand Tour combines the performance expected from the Italian manufacturer with the practical demands of extended travel.
For riders who enjoy challenging roads as much as the destinations they lead to, the Grand Tour offers an appealing proposition: Ducati performance without sacrificing the conveniences of a well-equipped touring machine.
Performance at Its Core
At the heart of the Grand Tour is Ducati’s 1,158cc V4 Granturismo engine, producing 170 horsepower at 10,750 rpm and 91 lb-ft of torque at 9,000 rpm. That output places the motorcycle firmly in high-performance territory, with ample power for spirited riding, highway travel, and carrying a passenger with luggage.
Extended Cylinder Deactivation improves efficiency by shutting down the rear cylinder bank when riding under low engine load. Ducati says the technology can reduce fuel consumption and emissions by up to 6% compared with the previous generation. Ducati Quick Shift 2.0 allows clutchless upshifts and downshifts, complementing the engine’s sporting character.

The motorcycle retains the Multistrada V4 S’s aluminum monocoque frame and Ducati Skyhook Suspension Evolution semi-active suspension. The system adjusts suspension damping to changing riding conditions, while automatic load leveling compensates for the additional weight of a passenger and luggage, helping maintain consistent handling and comfort.
Five riding modes—Sport, Touring, Urban, Wet, and Enduro—allow riders to tailor the motorcycle’s behavior to road conditions and personal preferences. Brembo Stylema brakes, cornering ABS, traction control, and wheelie control further support its performance credentials. Ducati’s electronically controlled combined braking system also adjusts brake distribution according to riding conditions and motorcycle load.
Touring Equipment Comes Standard
Where the Grand Tour distinguishes itself is in its extensive standard equipment.
Color-matched side cases provide a combined 16 gallons of storage, while heated grips and heated seats for both rider and passenger extend comfort into cooler riding conditions. A center stand, tire pressure monitoring system, auxiliary LED lighting, and hands-free fuel cap add everyday convenience.
The 6.5-inch TFT display supports smartphone-connected, full-map navigation, helping riders manage unfamiliar routes without a separate GPS unit.
Ducati also includes radar-based Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Detection, and Forward Collision Warning. These rider assistance features are particularly relevant to extended highway travel, where maintaining awareness and reducing rider distraction contribute to a more comfortable experience.
Technology That Makes Touring Easier
One notable feature is Ducati’s Automatic Lowering Device, which reduces ride height by up to 30 mm when speed drops below 6 mph, returning the motorcycle to normal riding height above 30 mph.
Standard seat height is adjustable between 33.1 and 33.9 inches, while an optional lower seat reduces that range to 31.9–32.7 inches. Ducati lists the motorcycle’s weight at 529 pounds with operating fluids but without fuel. Together, these measurements help put the lowering system’s benefits into perspective, particularly for riders managing the motorcycle at stops or with a passenger and luggage aboard.
The Easy Lift function further assists riders by reducing the effort required to bring the motorcycle upright from its side stand.
A 5.8-gallon fuel tank and extended 37,000-mile valve clearance inspection intervals also contribute to the Grand Tour’s touring credentials.
Availability and Pricing
The 2027 Ducati Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour is scheduled to arrive at North American dealerships beginning in February 2027, with a starting MSRP of $30,995.
The Grand Tour’s appeal lies in its combination of serious sporting performance and touring practicality. Riders seeking a relaxed, traditional touring motorcycle may look elsewhere, but those who want an engaging ride through the curves without compromising comfort or convenience will find plenty to consider.
