Suzuki Confirms Next Wave of 2027 Models

Suzuki has confirmed another group of motorcycles for the 2027 model year, giving riders a much clearer picture of the company’s sport touring and long-distance road lineup for next spring.

The announcement follows Suzuki’s first wave of 2027 models, which included the new SV-7GX and SV-7GXV sport crossovers. At the time, American Sport Touring noted that Suzuki had not yet announced 2027 versions of the GSX-S1000GT or GSX-S1000GX.

That gap has now been partly filled.

Suzuki’s latest announcement confirms the return of the GSX-S1000GT+, GSX-S1000GX+, V-STROM 1050, and V-STROM 1050DE for 2027. The broader announcement also covers DualSport, SuperMoto, naked, sportbike, and ATV models, but these four are the most relevant for riders considering a touring-oriented Suzuki.

GSX-S1000GT+ Returns as Suzuki’s Flagship Sport Tourer

For riders looking for the most conventional sport touring motorcycle in Suzuki’s lineup, the GSX-S1000GT+ remains the natural starting point.

The GT+ combines a GSX-R1000-derived inline-four engine with full bodywork, integrated side cases, Smart Cruise Control, a bi-directional quick shifter, adjustable traction control, selectable power modes, and a 6.5-inch TFT display with Suzuki mySPIN smartphone connectivity.

Suzuki says the ergonomics balance long-distance comfort with a sporty riding position. The removable side cases are also large enough to accommodate full-face helmets, an important practical consideration for touring.

The 2027 GSX-S1000GT+ carries an MSRP of $14,599. Suzuki’s announcement does not identify substantial mechanical changes for the new model year.

For riders who want sportbike-derived performance without moving toward the taller stance and longer suspension travel of a crossover or adventure-style motorcycle, the GT+ remains Suzuki’s clearest expression of traditional sport touring.

GSX-S1000GX+ Takes the Crossover Route

The GSX-S1000GX+ approaches long-distance riding differently.

It also uses a GSX-R1000-derived engine, but combines that performance with longer suspension travel, increased ground clearance, upright ergonomics, integrated luggage, and electronically controlled suspension.

Suzuki Advanced Electronic Suspension and the company’s Road Adaptive Stabilization system are designed to respond to changing road conditions. Those features make the GX+ particularly relevant for touring riders who want sportbike performance but also value additional suspension capability on rough or deteriorated pavement.

Suzuki describes the GX+ as a crossover sport tourer bridging sport touring and adventure riding. The 2027 MSRP is $18,949.

The distinction between the two liter-class models is straightforward. The GT+ stays closer to the traditional sport touring formula, while the GX+ combines similar high-performance roots with a taller, more upright configuration and a more sophisticated suspension package.

V-STROM 1050 Offers Another Approach to Touring

Suzuki also confirmed both versions of its 1,037cc V-twin V-STROM 1050 for 2027.

The standard V-STROM 1050 is positioned as a sport adventure tourer for highways and long-distance journeys. Suzuki lists its 2027 MSRP at $15,699.

The V-STROM 1050DE moves farther toward mixed-surface riding with increased ground clearance, longer-travel adjustable suspension, a 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke-style wheel combination, an extended swingarm, and a reinforced subframe. Its MSRP is $16,649.

For riders comparing Suzuki’s touring options, the V-STROM represents a distinctly different approach from the GSX-S1000 models. The GT+ and GX+ emphasize GSX-R-derived inline-four performance and pavement-oriented riding, while the V-STROM begins with an adventure touring platform and places greater emphasis on versatility across different road surfaces.

A Clearer Picture for 2027

Suzuki’s latest announcement is considerably broader than those touring models. The GSX-8S, GSX-8R, GSX-S1000, DR-Z4S, DR-Z4S+, and DR-Z4SM are also confirmed for 2027, along with several ATV models. Suzuki also announced price adjustments on selected DR-Z and GSX models.

For sport touring riders, however, the larger takeaway is that Suzuki’s 2027 road lineup is coming into focus.

The first announcement introduced a new middleweight crossover. This second wave now confirms the return of Suzuki’s established liter-class sport touring, crossover, and adventure touring choices.

For riders considering a new motorcycle next spring, that means several distinct approaches to long-distance road travel are already confirmed for 2027: the traditional GSX-S1000GT+, the taller GSX-S1000GX+, and the V-STROM 1050 family for riders leaning farther toward adventure touring.

The second wave does not introduce a new Suzuki sport tourer, but it does answer an important question left open by the first announcement: Suzuki’s established GT+, GX+, and V-STROM touring choices will be back for 2027.
