Suzuki Motor USA has announced the first wave of its 2027 motorcycle lineup, led by the debut of the new SV-7GX and SV-7GXV sport crossover models, official pricing for the 2027 GSX-R1000 40th Anniversary Edition line, and updates to the RM-Z motocross family.

For sport touring riders, the announcement is notable less for Suzuki’s established GT models than for what it signals about the company’s broader street and sport crossover direction. Suzuki has long been known for performance motorcycles, including the popular GSX-S1000GT sport touring platform.

For AST readers, the models of most interest are the new SV-7GX and SV-7GXV. Suzuki describes the SV-7GX as a V-Twin-powered sport crossover built on the middle-weight SV650 platform, with a 645cc 90-degree V-Twin engine, ride-by-wire throttle, Suzuki Intelligent Ride System electronics, upright ergonomics, an adjustable windscreen, a full-color TFT display, Suzuki Ride Connect+ compatibility, a bi-directional quick shifter, selectable ride modes, traction control, and full LED lighting.

Suzuki also notes that the SV-7GX was designed for riders who want one motorcycle capable of daily commuting, weekend canyon rides, and extended touring adventures. That combination makes it interesting for sport touring riders looking for a lighter, road-focused motorcycle with practical ergonomics and longer-distance capability.

The SV-7GXV is positioned as a more value-oriented version of the same basic sport crossover platform. According to Suzuki, it includes the SV-7GX’s core features while expanding access to the V-Twin sport crossover lineup at a lower price. Suzuki lists MSRP at $8,599 for the SV-7GX and $8,399 for the SV-7GXV, excluding destination, freight, dealer fees, taxes, title, license, registration, and optional equipment.

Suzuki also announced official pricing for the 2027 GSX-R1000 40th Anniversary Edition models. The GSX-R1000 40th Anniversary Edition is listed at $16,399, the GSX-R1000R 40th Anniversary Edition at $17,939, and the GSX-R1000RS 40th Anniversary Edition at $18,639.

While the GSX-R1000 is a pure sportbike, Suzuki’s updates are still relevant because GSX-R performance has long influenced the company’s street and sport-oriented motorcycles. For 2027, Suzuki highlights an updated 999.8cc inline-four engine, revised Suzuki Intelligent Ride System electronics, a new Bosch IMU, updated Motion Track Brake System cornering ABS, and new Smart TLR Control.

The RM-Z450 and RM-Z250 also return for 2027 with motocross-focused updates, rounding out Suzuki’s first group of 2027 announcements.

American Sport Touring will continue watching for Suzuki’s next wave of 2027 model announcements, including any news on the GSX-S1000GT and GSX-S1000GX.
